How to Change Sections: Required Procedures
Because of work schedules, a few people may need to change sections. Here's how.

  1. The student takes responsibility for arranging the change.
  2. All changes will take place before the timelines are due. No changes after that.
  3. Students who wish to change sections should contact the TAs after lecture. Michelle Murray is coordinating the changes of sections. She will try to balance individual student needs with our need to keep the sections about the same size.
  4. To change sections, you must write down (a) your current section; (b) your proposed new section; and (c) your reason for wishing to change. If you are changing because of a timing conflict, please write down a list of acceptable section times (in order of your preference).
  5. You do not need to contact Professor Lipson about this. Only the permission of Michelle Murray and the relevant TAs is needed.

We want is to make sections fit student schedules as best we can. What we do not want is students switching sections because they "like" one section leader more. For that reason, all section leaders will be equally brilliant and pleasant.

Information Needed for Section Form

  1. FAMILY NAME, First Name (Family name in CAPS)
  2. Phone number
  3. Status at university, such as “undergraduate-pol sci” or "CIR-1st year"
  4. Relevant course background, such as several courses in IR or modern world history; also, if you have previously worked with one section leader and would like to continue, please note that.
  5. Preferences for section time: (a) 1st preference; (b) 2nd preference (c) 3rd preference
  6. Please indicate which section times you absolutely cannot meet.

We want is to make sections fit student schedules as best we can. What we do not want is students switching sections because they "like" one section leader more. For that reason, all section leaders will be equally brilliant and pleasant.
